| The name "Ose Dudu" comes from the Yoruba people of Western Nigeria and means simply, black soap. The blackness is attributed to the nature and color of the soap derived from the burning and boiling of various component parts put together to form a natural homogenous soap used daily by the Yorubas to rid the skin of common skin problems like rashes, ring worm, measles, acne and body odors. It is also natural hair shampoo as the palm kernel oil effect keeps the scalp lubricated preventing scalp irritations and itching common with dry skin. Black soap has been used through the ages for various spiritual purification throughout Africa. Other herbs can be mixed into the soap for specific rites and cosmetic purposes |
